My name is Valerie, and I am a watercolor artist in Wilmington, North Carolina, where I reside with my husband and two wild little boys (5&3). 

 

My current favorite subject to paint is a home portrait. I am fascinated by architectural details and landscapes that tell a unique story. Honoring a home in this way evokes memories and provides a portal to the past; it is such a gift to be able to paint them for you! 

 

I have a strong passion for horticulture, so gardens and natural elements are an endless source of inspiration for my work. I love the movement of loose watercolor flowers and am currently building a collection to offer you soon!

 

I studied art in college, but as life got busy I drifted away from the practice. I found my way back through a few local community classes and now I can't imagine my life without the arts. I firmly believe that everyone was born with art within them. The daily demands of life are a huge distraction, but finding your way back to art is a beautiful journey that everyone is capable of. 

 

When I am not painting I am hanging out with my family, working in my garden, or going on a long run.
